With nearly 3000 visitors from all over New Zealand ■ hungry for breakfast, the old ‘boiler burnt through its I tubes, causing pump failure. However, hundreds more visitors surged to the pa today to bring the population to 6500, and engineers hoped to have the boiler in working order again by early tomorrow.

The Ratana Church synod continued its annual meeting today. The highlight of celebrations on Wednesday wiU be the arrival of Queen Ta Ata I Rang! Kaahu, head of the King movement in the Waikato.
