TRIP FOR TROUT
Irish Girl Arrives (N.Z. Preet Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 23. An Irish colleen who has never handled a fishing rod in her life arrived in Auckland today intent on landing a trout and preparing it for a picnic by a thermal pool. It will be the most public meal 21-year-old Miss Geraldine McHugh has had—more than 20 million British television viewers will see her eat it. Miss McHugh, a greeneyed brunette, whose home is in County Kerry, won a bag of fish and chips in the Michael Miles television quiz programme “Take Your Pick.” Mr Miles told her; “Of course, you’ll have to go to New Zealand to catch the fish."
Tomorrow morning she will, fly to Rotorua on her trout fishing expedition at one of the lakes. If she is successful' —and the odds are in her. favour—it will be cooked in] a thermal pool and eaten on j the spot. Then she will visit Christchurch, Queenstown, Milford ] sound and Mt Cook (for iced drinks on the glacier).
