NEW TRY FOR EXEMPTION

Conscientious Objector

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright)

SYDNEY, December 20.

The conscientious objector, William White, aged 21, has embarked on a new course of action to gain exemption from national service.

White, a former teacher, applied again yesterday to the Courts for exemption under a High Court decision in Queensland which allowed him to apply for rehearing. Mr C. S. Rodgers, S.M., who rejected White’s first application a year ago, adjourned the case until next Friday. He said that in the interests of justice another Magistrate should hear and determine the new application.
