Four Houses Sold
A Cashmere bungalow at 13 Cracroft terrace was sold for £5500 at public auction yesterday. The sale was held on account of the estate of Robert John Loughnan by Binns, Barber, and Keenan, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr E. G. Keenan.
The house has a living-room, dining-room, sunroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and laundry. Outbuildings on the section of 40 perches include a garage and workshop. The Government valuation is £4475.
The opening bid was £5OOO. There were five bids of £lOO. A modern weatherboard bungalow and a self-contained flat on a section of 41.9 perches at 28 Hawthorne street, Papanui, was sold immediately after being passed in at £3900. The property was offered on account of the estate of Amy Guinness McNabb by George Anderson and Son. The auctioneer was Mr J. Dyer. The house has two bedrooms, two living-rooms, sunroom, hail, bathroom, kitchenette, and laundry. The rates are £45 Is 7d, and the Govenrment valuation is £4OOO.
A city block of bare land of 17 perches, zoned commercial B, at Victoria street, opposite New Zealand Railways Road Services, was passed in at £13,000. The land was offered on account of Taylors Cleaners and Dyers Limited, by Ford and Hadfield Ltd.
The auctioneer was Mr Denys Chapman.
A house on a section of 42 perches, zoned commercial B, at 118 Victoria street, near Bealey avenue, has been sold by private treaty by George Anderson and Son, in conjunction with Ford and Hadfield, Ltd.
The property was passed in at £14,600 when offered at auction.
Gibbon and Middleton, Ltd. has sold a house at 211 Aidwins road, Linwood. The house was passed in at £2350 at auction recently.
