Sir Ronald Algie, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has been appointed a trustee of the National Library.—(P.A.) Mr G. Wilson, Governor of the Reserve Bank, was taken ill and admitted to hospital in Sydney while on his way to a conference. He is making good progress and is expected to be out of hospital within a day or two.—(P.A.) Mr E. Clark, the United States Ambassador to Australia, left Christchurch by air yesterday for a visit to Antarctica. Since he was assigned to Australia 14 months ago, Mr Clark has travelled 55,000 miles. In the Antarctic he will visit Byrd Station, the Amundsen-Scott South Pole station, and the New Zealand Scott base.
