Linwood H.S. Well Placed
After** day of changing fortunes, Linwood High School is well placed in its annual cricket match against Cashmere High School. Cashmere has lost six wickets for 55 runs in reply to Linwood’s first innings of 203. For Linwood, after two wickets had fallen for five runs, B. Bhana, with considerable skill, and B. Atkinson, displaying a mixture of determination and good luck, had a partnership of 119 for the third wicket. The most hostile Cashmere bowler was A. Proven, who took four wickets in 23 overs. Cashmere crashed heavily against P. Bhana. He received fine support from his fieldsmen and took five wickets for 16. Scores:— Linwood 203 (Atkinson 63, B. Bhana 61, G. Harris 28: Proven 4/65), Cashmere 55/6 (P. Bhana 5/16).
