Complaint On Courts
A committee of four was appointed by the Canterbury Tennis Association's management committee last evening to invite players and to make other arrangements for the Canterbury tennis championships at Wilding Park on February 24, 2S. and 26
The committee is: Mrs L. Buxton, Messrs M. C. Healey, R. B Brown, and D. McNicol. The chairman (Mr Healey) said it was important that details of the tournament be arranged before Christmas. The committee referred to the Wilding Park committee a letter from the Waimairi Lawn Tennis Club which complained of the condition of the park’s hard courts. The Waimairi club captain, on October 29, had said that "the lines on the courts in places were hard to see,” the letter said. Mr Healey said that on the day mentioned the club would have had the same complaint about grass courts. Rain had made the lines hard to see.
