Radio Hauraki At Low Power
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 5. Radio Hauraki began beaming commercial radio programmes into thousands of New Zealand homes early this morning. Although broadcasting at reduced power, they received telephone reports of good reception from Whangarei. Hamilton, Wellington, the Bay of Plenty and many parts of Auckland. The commercial manager. Mr C. Broadley, said 30 advertisers had paid for time on today’s broadcasts. More advertisers were coming in all the time, he said, but advertising time would be kept to a low percentage of the broadcasting time.
