Casting Industry’s New Award
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 4. Increases of up to 64d an hour in minimum wage rates are included in a new award for ferrous and non-ferrous casting industry workers issued by the Arbitration Court. Shift allowance is increased by 6d a shift. Increases of 2s 6d to 39s 2d a week have been made in rates for junior male and female workers. The maximum hourly rate is now 8s lid and all rates will be increased by the general order from December 1. The award is retrospective to November 21.
