Press Assn.—Copyright) Three prominent New ZealantPbred candidates for the 15-<furlong Port Adelaide Cup, of 17,700 dollars, at Cheltenham on December 28 —Sir Wynyard, Te Parae and Bright Blend—finished in that order after a thrilling struggle in the Welfare Handicap (11 furlongs) at Cheltenham on Saturday. Like Sir Wynyard, Bright Blend is by Summertime. Bright Blend won the Port Adelaide Cup last year and Sir Wynyard, winner of several races in Melbourne and Adelaide, holds the Australian record for 14 furlongs.
