Crowd Of 6750
Although the weather was favourable, the New Brighton Trotting Club’s summer meeting at Addington Raceway on Saturday attracted a crowd of only 6750. On-course totalisator returns amounted to £85,545 10s, including £14,811 10s on the two doubles, compared with £98,715 10s last year. Off-course betting showed an increase, amounting to £104’50 10s, including £50.813 on the double, compared with £95,510 10s.
Driver Out 3 Weeks D. Mangos, the driver of Kelway Bay in the Juvenile Stakes at Addington on Saturday. was suspended until December 24. It was found that he caused interference to Charles, which in turn interfered with Grand Chief, a furlong and a half after the start. In the Welcome Stakes, Blue Pin broke and checked other runners, the worst sufferer being Newport Maid, which had her chance ruined. It was found that Blue Pin jumped an object lying on the track and no action was taken. ( l
