Ambulances Attend Fewer Motor Accidents
Although more mileage was involved, the Christchurch sub-centre of the St. John Ambulance Association carried fewer patients in its ambulances last month than in November, 1965, according to figures released by the secretary of the sub-centre (Mr G. A. Brown). Last month ambulances covered 12,707 miles and carried 2284 patients, 68 of whom were involved in motor accidents, and another 68 of whom
were victims of collapses and miscellaneous accidents. In November, 1965, the ambulances of the sub-centre travelled only 12,271 miles, although they had 38 more patients to carry. There were four fewer victims of collapses and miscellaneous accidents, but 94 patients involved in motor accidents. The ambulances attended 57 motor vehicle accidents last month, compared with 70 such accidents both in October this year and in November, 1965.
