AVOIDANCE URGED
Little Akaloa Road Motorists should be asked ito avoid using the Little Aka[loa road next week, when it was to be sealed, the Akaroa County Council was told. The county engineer (Mr 'J. D. Annan) said motorists should avoid the road between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. each iday, and those who used it would be likely to encounter some delays. Mr Annan reported that Beach road, Akaroa, was about ready for sealing, and would probably be sealed before Christmas. During the month work had been done on the State highway and a short length of safety railing had been provided on a deceptive curve on the Barry’s BayHilltop section of the highway.
Considerable lengths of carriageway edge had been strengthened and slightly widened.
