SOFTBALL SERIES
Canterbury Drawn Well The Canterbury mens softball team has received a very draw for the New Zealand inter-provincial Beattv Cup tournament at Rugby Park from December 28 until January 3. It will not meet Southland, its main opposition in section B. until the last round of section play. On the first day Canterbury will play R.N.Z.A.F. and Bay of Plenty (formerly Tau. ranga). West Coast and Army will be its opponents on the second day and Southland on the third day. The top two teams in section B, expected to be Canterbury and Southland, will join the bottom three teams from section A to play for the Dick Headifen Memorial Trophy, the second section of the tournament. The winner of the Headifen Trophy and the runner-up will be promoted to section A for the 1967-68 tournament.
