NEW SCHOOL PLANNED

“State System Limited” (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 21. Because of the limitations they feel exist in the state primary school system a group of Auckland parents plan to start a private school next February. It will be one of the few private schools in New Zealand which is not run or sponsored by a religious organisation.

An interim committee to establish the school has been formed and the group of parents is advertising for a teacher.

The chairman of the committee, Mr B. J. Cook, said that 30 parents were interested in the scheme.

It was planned to have one teacher to 20 children and to bring in outside specialists when required. Voluntary parent assistance would be an essential part of the school’s programme.

It was initially planned to employ two teachers with 40 children, whose ages would range from four and a half to 10.

After it is established the school will seek Government registration.
