AUCKLAND T. W. Jarvis, the New Zealand opener, and P. M. de Lautour, who have never before scored treble figures in 11 years of senior cricket, scored centuries in the Auckland district cricket series on Saturday. Jarvis hit 110 not out and de Lautour 100. Grafton 280 (de Lautour 100, A. Watkins 58; R. Cunis 4/51), beat Eden-Roskill 192 and 101/8 (M. Burgess 4/18). Eastern 219/5 dec. (Jarvis 110 not out, P. McGregor 72) beat North Harbour 190 and 114/3. Papatoetoe 259 and 51/1 beat Cornwall 228 (M. Domer 58; A. Timpson 5/62). Western Suburbs 242/9 dec. and 62/2 beat University 144/9 (A Spurdie 58 not out, B. Keene 4/59).

DUNEDIN A brilliant innings of 159 scored in 155 minutes by the Grange batsman, P. C. Semple, against Kaikorai, was the highlight of senior cricket in Dunedin. Semple, in partnership with S. N. McGregor, who was also in superb form while making 73, added 202 for the third wicket. Grange went on to make 449, the highest innings total remembered In Dunedin club cricket, and take first innings points from Kaikorai, which had made 313 for seven declared on the first days of the match. Results: Albion 175 and 73/0 beat University 51 and 195 (B. G. Joyce 55; R. McDougall 5/56), by 10 wickets. Grange 449 (Semple 159, McGregor 73, R. L. Murdoch 53: R. Storer 5/134) beat Kaikorai 313/7 dec. and 102/7 (K. Ibadulla 58: C. Dickel 3/8) on the first innings. Old Boys 134/8 dec. (W. Wilson 5/24) beat Dunedin 133 and 131/6 (K. O. Campbell 64) on the first innings. WELLINGTON University 222 beat St. Pat’s 0.8. 115 (B. Hopkins 4/45) and 77 (W. J. R. Haskett 4/9) outright. Tawa 175 and 80 (L. C. Butler 7/31) beat Kilbirnie 126 (D. O. Neelly 65) and 4/1, on the first innings. Midland 170 and 155/8 dec. (J. Moss 5/76) beat Wellington 145 and 71/8 (I. B. Pollard 4/45) on the first innings. Karori 206 beat, Wellington College 0.8. 94 and 148/5 (C. K. Coney 53), on the first innings. HUTT VALLEY Upper Hutt 248 (B. J. Blyle 55; I. R. Schofer 6/73) beat Taita 125 and 112 (R. W. Blair 6/52), outright. Hutt 182/9 dec. beat Wainui 60 (G. Solomon 6/25) and 71 (Solomon 6/36), outright. Petone 281/7 dec. (D. Francis 64 not out) beat Naenae 170 and 87/3, on the first innings.
