Waimakariri Bridges
Sir, —I agree with “Clem” that a bridge could have been built between the railway and traffic bridges. The railway bridge will take 400-ton trains and all that would be required of the other side is to take the weight of decking and half the weight of approximately 30 cars. If it would not carry this, something is wrong with past engineering.—Yours, etc., PASSED STD. VI. November 1, 1966.
