CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Christchurch Lecture

A public lecture on Christian Science by Mr P. K. Wavro, C. 5.8., of Jacksonville, Florida, will be given in Christchurch on November 6 under sponsorship of the First Church of Christ Scientist. The ways in which man discovers his ultimate freedom as the child of God will be explored in depth as a main theme of the lecture. It will begin at 3 p.m. in the Horticultural Building, 151 Cambridge terrace. Admission will be free and open to the public. Mr Wavro is now on tour as a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, and during the last few years has addressed audiences in Europe, the Caribbean and South America, as well as throughout the United States. He is a recipient of the De Molay Legion of Honor for achievement in his chosen field of endeavour. During the Second World War he served as a Christian Science minister, withdrawing from business to devote himself to the church’s healing ministry, and later becoming an authorised teacher of religion. His lecture will be entitled “How Christian Science Brings Freedom From Limitation.”
