£300 To Do Dishes
"The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, Oct 19.
Air New Zealand chartered a National Airways Corporation DC3 freighter at a cost of nearly £3OO to fly the dirty dishes and food containers of President Johnson and his entourage from their four airliners from Ohakea to Auckland today for washing up. The same freighter will fly the refurbished containers and sparkling dishes back to Ohakea tomorrow for the airliner’s onward flight to Canberra. An Air New Zealand official said victualling an airliner was a highly specialised job and facilities were not available at Ohakea.
