TOP RUGBY CLUB
Christchurch was the most successful Rugby club in Canterbury last season. Burnside, which had only one team in open grade football, was the most successful lower grade club.
In all grades Christchurch recorded 255 points, ahead of Linwood (244 J and Suburbs (188 i Burnside scored 167 points to win the Redpath Shield for the most successful club in grades from under-18 down. Linwood was second with 158 and New Brighton (127) third. The Merivale Club has been
granted permission by the New Zealand Rugby Union to make a tour of Australia in March next year.
