Mr Gerald H. Edwards, of St. Albans, Hertfordshire, has been appointed director of the Standards Association. Mr Edwards takes up his position in London on September 15 after spending two weeks with the British Standards Institution. He will arrive in New Zealand on October 3. The Rev. D. R. Harper has been appointed vicar of the parochial district of Kumara and assistant to the vicar of Hokitika. Mr Harper has been assisting in the parish of Fendalton for the last three years. He will take up his appointment early in December.
