Faulty Sound A fault in the sound track of the videotape recording of the fourth Rugby test, which was screened froip CHTV3 last evening, caused some viewers concern. Mr K. M. Hay, the district manager of the N.Z.8.C., said last night that the sound at the end of the first half and the early part of the second half had been faulty, but the picture was satisfactory. This had been the condition of the tape when it was received from Auckland, where there had been recording difficulties, Mr Hay said. One degree of frost was recorded at Harewood and two degrees at the Botanic Gardens. The maximum temperature recorded at Harewood on Saturday was 54 degrees at 3 p.m. The Botanic Gardens recorded a maximum of 57 degrees. A very light frost of 2 degrees was recorded at the Botanic Gardens and at Harewood yesteri day Light south-westerly winds in the morning changed to light north-easterly winds in the afternoon. Gourley, from 41 Squadron, made the drop to the Ist Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, in an isolated jungle base in Sarawak. —(P.A.-Reuter-Copyright.) Beard Shortage Import restrictions have hit New Zealand wig-makers and importers so drastically that there may have to be some clean-shaveu Father Christmases this year. Mr F. Zettwitz, the principal of an Auckland firm that supplies Father Christmas beards to many organisations and large shops throughout New Zealand, said imports of false hair had been cut to a very small quantity. There was not a single Father Christmas beard in stock, and the Christmas demand was always very good. Sunday Traffic Traffic was heavy on all main roads out of Christchurch yesterday. A fine warm day drew many motorists to country areas. The traffic reached a peak at 4.30 p.m. Pianist Arrives The famous English pianist, Moura Lympany, arrived at Auckland International Airport on Saturday for a concert tour of New Zealand. She will open her tour in Auckland tonight. She last played in New Zealand 18 years ago. —(P.A.)
