PRINCE IN N.Z.
“Queen Was Delighted”
(N Z. Press Association/
LONDON. Sept. 9.
The Queen has been "delighted” by the reaction of New Zealanders to Prince Charles during his brief stop at Mangere international airport on his return to Britain from Australia, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said tonight. The New Zealand Prime Minister had a private audience with the Queen today—a courtesy extended to all Commonwealth leaders attending the Prime Ministers’ conference.
Mr Holyoake said the Queen had received many letters from New Zealanders who had met and talked with the Prince at the airport. Earlier, the Prime Minister lunched with representatives of the New Zealand Producer Boards in London. He said the butter position for New Zealand in Britain appeared “brighter" than a few months ago. The stock position and forward prospects were hopeful.
