Mao’s Successor
Sir, “P.J.A.” states: “China is content with her own boundaries.” If this is so, why did Chou En-lai tour Africa and say, “There is an excellent opportunity for revolution in z Africa.” Zanzibar then went up in flames and the Communists took over. Mr C. Lee, Minister of Defence, supplied textbooks on subversion, and also the arsenal for the “Revonia” plotters, who, but for prompt action by the police, would have seized power in South Africa. Zambian terrorists now awaiting trial in Bulawayo had Chinese arms and subversive literature. Chou En-lai has told the Viet Cong he is “right behind them.” If all this shows Chinese contentment we can only hope they don’t get discontented.— Yours, etc., D. VICARS. • August 31, 1966.
