RISE FOR PRINTERS
P.S.A. To See Mr Shand
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, Aug. 29.
A Public Service Association delegation will meet the Minister of Labour (Mr Shand) tomorrow morning to discuss the Government Printing Office employers’ dispute.
The association would claim the £5O ruling rates survey increase for the 300 employees of the Printing Office, the secretary (Mr D. P. Long) said tonight. Mr Long said more than 100,000 Government servants had been awarded the increase.
The increase, announced in June, was allowed after the ruling rates survey in February.
Mr Long said the Government printers were the only section which ''ad not yet been awarded the increase. He said the association had discussed the claim with Mr Shand on August 12.
