DELIVERY OF MAIL
A letter from the Post Office to the Lyttelton Borough Council last evening explained how Diamond Harbour residents could get a mail delivery by erecting boxes and paying a rural mail fee. The letter was referred to the Diamond Harbour Burgesses’ Association. Sewer Work.—On the Diamond Harbour sewer extension, 176 chains out of 271 chains had been laid, the east end being completed, and in oneration, the overseer (Mr F. Davidson) reported. The whole job should be completed by February, or in 15 months as against the original estimate of two years. Corsair Bay.—Mr Davidson said that the road to the bottom car-park at Corsair Bay was being formed for sealing, and new lavatories were being built at a cost of £l6OO. The shop was being plastered to meet health requirements.
