CLIMBERS REACHED
Trapped In Alps (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CHAMONIX (France), ' August 21 A mountain rescue team led by an American climber, Gary Hemming, today reached two German mountaineers stranded eight days on the 12.300 ft high Aiguille du Dru in the Mont Blanc massif of the French Alps.
Mountain rescue officials at Chamonix said only Hemming, who was leading a four-man team up the west face of the “needle” was able to join the two Germans. He had taken with him food and water for the two climbers who are perched on a narrow ledge and also had not eaten for the last three or four days.
