POPULATION CONTROL
£250 Cheque From N.Z. A cheque for £250 has been sent to the headquarters of the International Planned Parenthood Federation by the action committee of the New Zealand Appeal for Population Control. It will be used, says the committee’s first newsletter, in South-east Asia. The amount is the committee’s first contribution.
The Appeal for Population Control has three aims: to collect money to help the people of overpopulated countries to achieve a reduction in their birth rates: to educate the people of New Zealand so that they should understand the immense importance of the problem; and to use public opinion to put pressure on the Government of New Zealand to shoulder its international responsibilities in this matter and render official aid to the population programmes of overpopulated countries.
