U.S. Airline Seeks Auckland Service

AUCKLAND, August 15. Braniff, the world’s twelfth biggest airline, had applied to the United States Civil Aeronautics Board for direct, single-carrier services between Auckland and the United States, Mr V. A. Kropff, the airline’s vicepresident, said in Auckland today.

land, Australia and the South Pacific if the new air travel and trade corridors can be provided,” Mr Kropff said Braniff would advocate reduced fares and cargo rates in the Pacific, he said. Last year it carried almost 31 million passengers and by next July would have an alljet fleet of 58 aircraft, Mr Kropff said.
