BEATLES BANNED
(,VZ Press Assn—Copyright > JOHANNESBURG. Aug 9 The South African Broadcasting Corporation announced yesterday it was banning the playing of all records by the Beatles pending clarification of John Lennon's comments on their popularity comnared with that of Jesus Christ.
The ban was announced on a news programme, which said that no records by the group would he played until a full report of Lennon's comments had been gh en to the corpora- J tion's board of governors. The han includes any . music composed by members of the Beatles group. |
