VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS AND SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS Applications are invited for up to three Research or Senior Research Fellowships tenable in any academic department In the university where the persons appointed will be expected to carry out unsupervised research. Salary for research fellows will be tn the range SA4BOO to 5A6300. Salary for senior research fellows will tall within the range 5A6500 to 2A7600 or the range 2ABOOO to BAB6OO depending on qualifications. In some circumstances, loadings are paid for fellowships held in medical or clinical departments. Certain allowances will be available to cover travel and removal expenses, to provide temporary accommodation and. in some circumstances, fellows may be eligible for repatriation after the completion of the tenure of their fellowship. The university will make a contribution towards the superannuation of fellows who are members of a superannuation scheme.

No previous experience in mass-spectrometry is required. The successful applicant will be trained in the operational procedures associated with the instrument, however, some mechanical aptitude would be an advantage. WEIR, Registrar. 3417 ROTHMANS FELLOWSHIPS APPLICATIONS are invited for Rothmans Fellowships which are awarded under the Rothmans University Endowment Fund set up by Rothmans of paH Mall (Australia), Limited, to enable Fellows to undertake post-graduate work within a university or approved institution. The Fellowships will be awarded at two levels. The Senior Fellowship is of an annual value of not more than 310,000 (Australian). The Junior Fellowship is in two grades, the first of an annual value of from 32200 to 33200 (Australian), the second of an annual value of not more than 36000 (Australian). A Fellow may be paid travelling expenses incurred In taking up the Fellowship and returning to bls home. In addition, an amount of 31000 (Australian) per annum wards fees and expenses including the purchase and maintenance of equipment may be paid to the university or institution where the Fellow is working. Preference In the award of the Fellowships will be given to those applicants who wish to work tn an Australian university or Institution and only in exceptional circumstances will an award be made in respect of work to be done elsewhere. Applications are invited for appointment to the above-named position to the Department of Commerce as from the beginning of 1967. Candidates should have good academic qualifications in Commerce. Economics or a related field, together with professional accounting qualifications and preferably some practical accounting experience. Teaching and research experience to accounting or a related subject at university level is very desirable. The salary range for the position is 8A6500/ 220/7600 p a., with superannuation similar to F.S.S.U. The appointee will be required to work under the general direction of the Professor of Commerce. to lecture and tutor in accounting units in the B.Comm. degree course, and to carry out research. There are also excellent computing facilities within the University, including a ttme-shared PDP-6 digital computer.
