Captain’s Albatross
Captain D. Newey, of the m.v. Ranganui, holed out for an albatross two on the par-5 453-yard eighth hole at the Kaiapoi golf course. Captain Newey, who was playing with J. Monk, the club men’s champion, played a two-wood second which landed short of the green and ran on into the hole. He is a left-hander and plays on a 13 handicap.
