McLAREN IS FASTEST

The New Zealand racing driver, B. McLaren, yesterday won the pole position on the starting grid in today’s 200mile race for sports cars with a qualifying lap of 104.6 m.p.h. The 28-year-old McLaren, who won the Spring race here in 1964, covered the twisting, 2.5-mile road circuit in Imin 24.65ec. He drove an Olds-mobile-powered car of his own design.
