Price Of Eggs Up Today

WELLINGTON, June 3.
An increase of 3d a dozen for medium grade eggs and Id a dozen for large grade eggs was announced by the Egg Marketing Authority today. The new prices, which come into force tomorrow, are described by the authority as “purely seasonal to bring prices in line with those ruling at this time last year.” The new retail prices for cartoned eggs are: Canterbury and Otago.— Large, 5s 7d; standard, 5s 2d; medium, 4s 7d; pullet, 2s 9d; mixed loose, 4s lid. Nelson and Marlborough.— Large, 5s lOd; standard, 5s sd; medium, 4s lOd; pullet, 3s; mixed loose, 4s Bd. Westland.—Large, 5s 9jd; standard, 5s 4jd; medium, 4s 9jd; pullet, 2s 9 id; mixed loose, 4s lOd. Loose eggs are 2jd a dozen less.
Prices for duck eggs in Canterbury, Westland and Otago are 3s 8d for large, 3s Id for small, and 3s 6d for loose. In Nelson and Marlborough the prices are 3s lid, 3s 4d and 3s 9d.
