Facade’s semi-final trial for the Waikato Steeplechase suggested the grey could be in tiptop shape for Saturday's crosscountry event at Te Rapa.
After a useful round of the No. 1 grass at Woodville yesterday the jumper pulled up well and he will travel north this morning, accompanied by his stablemate, Fleeting Moment. Fleeting Moment was another to attract during a quiet morning’s work His mission is the Garden Place Handicap in which he will be ridden by B. F. Andrews. M. J. Dombroski will have the mount on Facade.
Facade carried a light-weight and was kept to a steady pace throughout. Allowed to accelerate a little passing the six, he sprinted home in Imin 22sec, running his final three under a good hold in 40sec. Fleeting Moment revelled In the Condition. He covered a round, galloping the last six furlongs alongside Comrade in imin 19 2-ssec, the final three in 40sec.
