Relations At Low Ebb

Relations between Algeria and Morocco have ebbed to their lowest point since the border war between the two countries three years ago, say diplomatic observers in Algiers. The new dispute between the two countries was started by the nationalisation of foreign-owned mines in Algeria, including the Gara Djebeliet iron ore deposits in the Tindouf area of the western Sahara, which is claimed by Morocco.
