FORMALLY REJECTED
(N.Z. Press Aasn —Copyright ’ PARIS, April 25. President de Gaulle has formally rejected President Johnson’s demand for a two-year deadline to move United States troops and bases out of France. A Note handed to the United States Ambassador (Mr C. E. Bohlen) by the Foreign Minister (Mr de Murville) said President de Gaulle's deadline of April 1, 1967, must stand. The Note was reported to call on the United States to cease arguing about legal technicalities and to get down to serious talks on details of putting the French deadline into effect Before seeing Mr Bohlen, the Foreign Minister conferred with President de Gaulle.
