BUILDING WORK
Sharp Rise In Heathcote The value of building work in the Heathcote county has almost doubled during the last two years. The County Engineer (Mr J. McF. Hamilton) told the council last night that since 1964 the value of work had risen from £386.760 to £743,376. Most of the money had been spent on housing, additions to homes or new residential amenities. In 1964 the council approved the construction of 42 houses and last year 78. Last month, the council approved 18 permits for work costing £47,570. Missing Woman. After four days of searching there is still no trace of Mrs B. Dooley, who is missing from Paihia. A search today covered areas near Russell and Opua and boats have been asked to keep a look-out around the harbour. The search will continue tomorrow.
