ELECTION OF BISHOP

Synod To Meet On May 10

The special electoral synod to choose the new Bishop of Christchurch will be held on May 10. The synod, at which the Bishop of Wellington (the Rt. Rev. H. W. Baines) will preside, will choose a successor to the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren, who will retire on June 24. All clergy of the Diocese of Christchurch will attend the synod, which will be held in the assembly hall of St. Margaret’s College. A time of quiet will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Merivale, on May 9 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. to prepare for the synod.
