Desk-Bound
Mr R, H. Scott, director of the Agriculture Department's farm advisory service, thinks it is too easy for senior officers of his department in Wellington to become deskbound. Mr Scott was opening a two-day farming conference in Whakatane. “Officers are becoming the poorer for becoming desk-bound." he said. “We must make every effort to meet and talk to you farmers on your home ground so that we may better understand your problems. No report from anyone in the district cap make up for personal contact.”
