Restaurant Plan
The Wellington City Council is looking for someone with money and imagination to build “the finest revolving restaurant in the world” on Mount Victoria, overlooking the city. Mr R. L. Archibald, chairman of the council’s reserves committee, said he envisaged a world-class restaurant built 100 yards away from the Byrd Memorial. “It would need private enterprise to build, own. and operate it" he said. Mr Archibald said anyone who came up with a I plan which could match the council’s hopes would almost certainly get the council’s approval.—(P.A.). *
