IMPROVED PIPING

Joined Scots Guards A young Christchurch man who left 18 months ago to join the Pipes and Drums of the Ist Battalion of the Scots Guards, returned recently on a fortnight’s leave from active service in Malaysia. He is Piper Tony Clark and was formerly a member of the Canterbury Caledonian Highland Pipe Band. He decided to join the Scots Guards to get more piping experience and has since served with the Guards in England, Scotland, Germany and Malaysia. Piper Clark said that his basic training was done in Pirbright in Surrey, England. He said the standard of piping was very good. At first he found it difficul but now he could compete on the same level.
