Magistrate’s Court TRAFFIC OFFENDERS FINED
On traffic charges brought before Mr E. A. Lee, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, convictions were entered and fines imposed as follows: Exceeded 30 miles an hour: Barton Strathallan McKnight, £10: Lawrence Edwin Cooke, £3; Kevin James Stephenson, £4; Carl McMenanmin, £6; Kenneth Raymond Wilson, £6 (no licence £5, and no safety helmet £6); Frederick Hicks, £8 and ordered to attend three traffic lectures; Marcus Bernard Numan, £5; Kerry Michael Summerfield, £7 10s and to attend traffic lectures; Joyce Mary Cain, £5; Alma Ellis, £4; Augustus Florence, £4; Graham David Floyd, £4; Donald Alexander Gemmill, £4; Leslie Lewis Hayes, £4; Brian Douglas Quinn, £4; Jack Ryan, £4; Nola Anne Bayliss, £5; Derk Bounan, £4; Cedric George Cox, £3; Warwick Desmond Croft, £5; Bruce William Hancox, £5; Gavin Richard Hayton, £4; Eric Gordon Heaps, £4; Clinton John Inns, £3; Robin William Mallock, £4; George Garfield Rogers, £4; Murray Edward Walsh, £4; Frederick Miles Warren, £3 (failed to produce driver’s licence £1). Unregistered vehicle: AinsiMe George Manson, £2 (no warrant of fitness, £1): Douglas Charles Smith (two charges), £4. Insufficient lights: John Christopher Spencer, £5. No driver's licence: Kevin James Wright, £5 (no warrant of fitness, £1). CHARGES WITHDRAWN A traffic officer said that Neil James McCone, who appeared on two traffic charges, was not the same person he apprehended. Traffic Officer G. Hall said McCone was not the same person he issued a notice to for driving without a warrant of fitness on January 3 this year. Later, another charge of failing to produce a driver’s licence was added.
The charges were withdrawn. "Inquiries into the matter are proceeding,” Traffic Officer hall said.

INDECENCY CHARGES A man who was charged with permitting two boys aged nine and 12 years to perform indecent acts on him, and with having induced another boy, aged 10, to perform an indecent act on him, all on March 4, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was renewed during the remand. He was ordered to report daily to the police.
The man, Eric Francis Elkis, aged 43, unemployed (Mr W. A. Wilson), pleaded not guilty to the three charges. Detective Sergeant B. I. S. Kimber prosecuted.
