Two Benmores By 1980 CN.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 4. Power equivalent to two Benmore stations will have to be added to the Auckland Electric Power Board’s supply system by 1980, according to estimates prepared by the board. The peak winter demand expected by the board this winter was 410 megawatts, the general manager (Mr A. S. Don) reported to the board today.
This will be a substantial increase on last winter’s peak of 369 megawatts, and will more than double the 1961 demand of 190 megawatts. By 1980 the peak demand will have soared to 1500 megawatts.
