HELP FOR INDIA
Appeal By Bishop (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 4. The Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland (Archbishop J. M. Liston) yesterday appealed to Roman Catholics in the Auckland Diocese to make a self - denial offering for India during Holy Week. He said in a letter read to congregations that reliable authorities said 10 million people were dying of hunger, four times the population of New Zealand. “The cry for help from India is one that each one of us must listen to with a gift, great on small,” Archbishop Liston did.
