4000 SAW EXHIBITS
D.S.I.R. Work
More than 4000 persons saw the exhibition of work by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research in Christchurch last week.
The officer in charge (Mr N. P. Alcorn) said that public interest in the exhibition had exceeded expectations, and was very gratifying. On the last day of the exhibition 1700 persons visited the D.S.I.R. offices. This was more than the total attendance for the first two days. Eighteen exhibits in 10 rooms attracted persons from all walks of life. Many said they had no idea that the D.S I.R. covered such a comprehensive field of research and investigation. Scientists are this week dismantling the exhibition and having a general spring clean.
