Firm Demand For Good Quality

There was a firm demand for good quality sheep at the un* registered ram and stud ewe fair held at the Tinwald saleyards yesterday. Inferior quality sheep were hard to sell and there were several passings among them.

Top price of the sale went to a pen of Dorset Downs, which made 25gns, sold on account of H. F. Burdett and Sons, Lyndhurst. A pen of Border Leicester rams sold on account of N. B. Maginess, Huntington, made 20gns. B. J. Francis of Tai Tapu sold a pen of South Dorset Down sheep for 20gns.

Values were: SouthdownBorder Leicester, 12gns to ISgns. Southdown, 3gns to 15gns. Border Leicester. sgns to 20gns. South Suffolk, Bgns to 20gns. South Dorset Down, 16gns to 20gns.
