Mr P. M. Velvin To Retire
One of Canterbury’s most prominent trade union leaders,, Mr P. M. Velvin, will shortly be retiring as secretary of the Canterbury Amalgamated Shop Assistants’ Union. He has held this position for about 30 years. The vacancy created by his proposed retirement will shortly be advertised. Mr Velvin recently relinquished the post of national secretary of New Zealand Clothing Workers’ Federation.
