MASSACRE CLAIMED

The North Vietnam News Agency has claimed that two companies of South Korean mercenary troops raided a South Vietnamese hamlet on December 22 and killed 50 persons on the spot. The victims were 22 children under 12 years of age, 22 women, and six persons over 70 years. The report said the South Korean troops were carrying out United States orders to destroy and kill all after “wanton” firing of over 500 mortar shells at 6 a.m. the same day on the hamlet —Tan Giang, in Binh Dinh province.
