’QUAKES IN HAWAII
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) HILO (Hawaii), Dec. 26.
Small, rumbling earthquakes, as many as three a minute, bedevilled the island of Hawaii yesterday after a volcano eruption 30 miles from Hilo.
The earthquakes, registering from .5 to 3.0 on the Richter scale, were felt in Hilo, which is a city of 30,000 people and the largest community on the island, but no damage or injuries were reported.
